Chosen for GoPRO program
Elevate Dance Academy is proud to announce that company dancers Maddie Britton and Avyn Puckett were selected to participate in the prestigious GoPRO Pre-Professional Workshop in Branson, Missouri, this summer.
“We are incredibly proud of Maddie and Avyn,” said Kelsey Britton, owner and director of Elevate Dance Academy. “Being invited into the GoPRO program is an outstanding accomplishment on its own, but having the opportunity to perform in three professional shows in Branson is an experience that will shape them as artists for years to come. Avyn earning a scholarship to the Theatre Arts Preparatory School is another incredible honor and a testament to her dedication, artistry, and bright future in the performing arts. Both dancers represented Elevate, Newcastle, and our studio with professionalism, humility, and exceptional talent.”
GoPRO is an invitation-only training experience presented by Talent On Parade that accepts a limited number of talented dancers from across the country. The intensive workshop provides aspiring performers with the opportunity to train alongside industry professionals while experiencing the demands of a professional performing career. As part of the program, Maddie and Avyn were cast in three live performances of the professional theatrical production, KIDZ ROC, giving them the unique opportunity to perform for Branson audiences while working in a professional production environment.
Throughout the week, the dancers immersed themselves in advanced classes, rehearsals, and live performances alongside some of the nation’s most promising young performers. Their selection into the highly competitive program reflects years of dedication, discipline, and a commitment to excellence.
Adding to the excitement, Avyn Puckett was awarded a scholarship to the Theatre Arts Preparatory School (TAPS) during the GoPRO experience. TAPS is a highly respected pre-professional training program that provides young performers with advanced instruction, mentorship, and opportunities to further develop their skills in dance, acting, and musical theatre. Receiving a TAPS scholarship recognizes Avyn’s exceptional talent, dedication, and potential as a performing artist while opening the door to continued elite training and future performance opportunities.
The GoPRO experience provided both dancers with firsthand insight into the pro- fessional entertainment industry, from rigorous rehearsals and technical training to the excitement of performing in front of live audiences. Experiences like these help bridge the gap between competitive dance and professional performance while preparing young artists for future careers in the performing arts.
