A new monument honoring the Chickasaw Lighthorse police officers is outside the department headquarters in Ada. The monument is the topic for the first story in this week’s Chickasaw Nation news. The momument was created by artist James Blackburn. A second story focuses on a trail at the Horticulture Education Center at the Botanic Garden at Oklahoma State University. The trail is now known as the Evelyn DeBenning Storybook Trail, honoring her life and contributions to Oklahoma education.
