Students go back to school Aug. 6: Dr. Walker has updates for 2026-27 school year
As Newcastle Public Schools prepares to welcome students back on August 6, Superintendent Dr. Cathy Walker has some important updates to share for the 2026-2027 school year.
A letter in this issue of the Newcastle
Pacer on page 8 outlines what to expect in regards to the following: • New state laws affecting the schools, including updated dismissal times for the Newcastle Early Childhood Center and Newcastle Elementary School.
• New members of the Newcastle Public Schools leadership team.
• Changes to district communication platforms.
• Updates to student technology practices.
• Information about the district’s Aug. 25 bond proposal.
• Back-to-school reminders and what families can expect in the weeks ahead.
