Tractor Supply, Christian Brothers Automotive, Sherwin Williams, Casey’s are on there way

Newcastle has several commercial projects either just finished or underway. With little information having been announced, they’ve been the topic and conjecture for social media enthusiasts.

During the State of the City, Mayor Karl Nail was able to place a business name on some of the locations that are being built.

A Braum’s Ice Cream and Dairy Store and a new Taco Bell were recently opened at Lamar Landing on State Highway 9. Nail said there are an additional 20 lots in that area.

At the corner of N.E. 24th Street and Main Street, Nail said a Tractor Supply Company is being built. There are four additional lots there, all owned by Armstrong Bank.

Businesses announced to be located at Castle Court, located just south of Papa John’s Pizza and Boomerang Diner, are Christian Brothers Automotive, Sherwin Williams, and Casey’s. There is one additional lot there, but nothing has been announced.

Nail said just south of Castle Court at 1728 N. Main Street will be a Dollar General.

The City’s development, Town Center Plaza, at the corner of Fox Lane and Main Street has water and sewer infrastructure now completed, and will have six lots available.

A Preliminary Plat and a PUD were approved by the City Council, according to Nail, and they plan to work with sales tax generating companies to locate there.
