On Tuesday, June 16, Democratic voters in Oklahoma’s Fourth Congressional District chose 34-year-old veteran, OU Law graduate, attorney, Mitchell Jacob (DNewcastle) as their nominee for Congress.

Following a campaign built on grassroots power and a commitment to everyday working Oklahomans, Jacob, the father of five, declared his primary victory.

He signaled the continuance of the real fight against Tom Cole (R-Norman) in November.

In a victory address to supporters, Jacob emphasized that the win belonged to the volunteers and donors who built the campaign infrastructure from the ground up.

“Tonight’s victory is not mine; it is yours. And it belongs to every single one of you. Because every door that was knocked, every call that was made, and every dollar contributed — that was you,” Jacob said.

A veteran of the United States Army, Jacob served five-and-a-half years, achieving the rank of sergeant, and as a Cryptologic Linguist deployed to Southern Syria in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.

He originally swore his oath of enlistment on Election Day 2016.

He reminded supporters that while the United States is approaching its 250th anniversary, the country’s character is decided by people across the nation, not by politicians in Washington, D.C.

“This Congress has failed us. This Administration has failed us. The One Big Beautiful Bill is still being implemented and must be rolled back,” Jacob said. “The attacks on democracy, affordable healthcare, public education, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and the basic quality of life for hardworking Americans are accelerating every single day.”

Jacob said there needs to be a rollback of policies that have failed the district. He said he is an advocate for a United States that works for the many, not just the few. He also pledges to be a champion for public schools, an advocate of the marginalized and working class, and to never give up on Democracy.

A fourth-generation Oklahoman, Jacob advocates for quality public education, supports small businesses, promotes job creation, and believes in a livable wage and economic opportunity for all. He emphasizes the importance of fiscal responsibility and reducing the federal deficit.

He said he is passionate about the Constitution and dedicated to upholding it as the cornerstone of the country.

He lives in Newcastle, with his wife and children, and they regularly attend church together.

An avid swimmer, Jacob also has a passion for cycling. In the summer of 2015, he rode his bicycle from Flagstaff, Arizona, to Los Angeles, Califorinia, and then returned to Flagstaff.

He said he is committed to fighting for Oklahoma’s values and will stand up every day to protect the state’s future.

The General Election is Tuesday, November 3.
