Newcastle Public Schools recently announced the appointment of Jackie Stewart as assistant principal of Newcastle Elementary Lower.
Stewart brings more than 15 years of educational experience and currently serves as an instructional coach for grades two through five at Newcastle Public Schools, where she supports campus improvement through professional learning communities, data analysis, intervention systems and teacher coaching.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Cameron University and a master’s degree in educational administration from Southwestern Oklahoma State University and holds Oklahoma certifications as both an elementary and secondary principal.
“Returning to Newcastle Elementary Lower feels like coming home,” Stewart said. “I am honored to serve as assistant principal and excited to continue growing, learning and thriving alongside our incredible students, staff and families. Go Racers!”
Principal Ashley Riley said Stewart’s experience and student-centered approach make her an excellent addition to the school’s leadership team.
“As an educator, Jackie is known for her warmth, her dedication, and her unwavering belief in the potential of every child,” Riley said. “She brings a fresh perspective and a wealth of experience that perfectly complements our existing leadership.”

Stewart will begin before the start of the school year.
