3 free community games planned Saturday for Veterans Park during Red, White & Blue Fest
The City of Newcastle Parks & Recreation Department has three games planned for this Saturday at Veterans Park during the Red, White & Blue Fest. They plan The Great American Unwrap, Last One Standing, and Rock Paper Scissors 250 Battle.
The games are free to participants, and will be held between the band sets. Even the members of the winning cheering section may walk away with prizes, according to Parks Department Director Kyle Marks.
THE GREAT AMERICAN UNWRAP
• Four contestants will compete.
• Two games will be played at the same time.
• One player unwraps while the other rolls a die.
• Roll a 2 or a 5 and players switch roles.
• First person from each game to completely unwrap their prize ball wins.
LAST ONE STANDING
• 15 contestants begin standing.
• Players must call out numbers in order from 1–15.
• After successfully calling a number, that player sits down.
• If two players say the same number at the same time, both are eliminated.
• If a player becomes the only person left standing, they are eliminated.
• After every elimination, all remaining players stand back up and a new round begins.
• Last contestant remaining wins.
ROCK, PAPER, SCISSORS 250 BATTLE
• Players pair off and play Rock, Paper, Scissors.
• Winners advance.
• Losers become supporters of the player who defeated them.
• If a player loses, that player and any supporters they have gained throughout the tournament will now support the winner of that battle.
• Supporters are encouraged to stay with their player and cheer them on.
• The final two players advance to the championship round with their cheering sections.
• Championship match is best two out of three.
• The winner is crowned the Rock, Paper, Scissors 250 Battle Champion.
