Services for Janet Sue Crawford, 82, of Newcastle, are 10 a.m. Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel in Ada, Oklahoma.
Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Francis, Oklahoma.
Janet passed away peacefully at her home on May 26, 2026, surrounded by love as her family prayed with her. She was born November 30, 1943, in Hominy, Oklahoma, to Robert Walter Wells and Lovella Merrill Wells.
She married the love of her life, Carl James “Jim” Crawford in 1961. He preceded her in death in 2008. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Robert “Butch” Wells.
She faithfully attended First Baptist Church in Newcastle, and served in the children’s ministry.
She is survived by: her sister, Judy Wilson; sisterin- law Mary Wells; daughter, Karla Prewitt and husband, Kevin; son, Carl James “Jimmy” Crawford Jr. and wife Bree; grandsons, Kyler Prewitt and wife Jessie; and Kodey Prewitt and wife Elizabeth; granddaughters, Ally Crawford and Aubrey Crawford; and great-grandchildren, Chloe Prewitt, Jemma Prewitt, Sutton Prewitt, Remi Prewitt, Oak Prewitt, and Quest Prewitt. She also leaves behind beloved nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Janet will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family, friends and the countless children whose lives were influenced by Miss Janet.
