The City of Newcastle Parks and Recreation Department opened the Veterans Park Splashpad for the 2026 summer season beginning last Friday.
The Splashpad is now open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and will remain open through September 8, the day following Labor Day weekend.
Kyle Marks, Newcastle Parks and Recreation director, said the Splashpad provides a free family-friendly activity for residents and visitors looking to cool off during the summer months.
“Located at Veterans Park, the Splashpad continues to be one of the community’s most popular warm-weather attractions for children and families of all ages,” Marks said. “We are excited to officially kick off another Splashpad season and provide families with a fun place to spend time together throughout the summer.”
