Special Olympics Summer Games were May 13-15 at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. Competitions included bocce, bowling, golf, horseshoes, powerlifting, Unified 3-on-3 basketball, and Unified softball. Activities included an opening ceremony and a closing ceremony. Newcastle Schools said their “hard work, smiles and unstoppable energy” was inspiring. They said the Special Olympics was a celebration of courage, teamwork, determination, heart, growth, and “the pure joy of showing up and giving it your all.”
