Splashpad opens Saturday for the summer season

The City of Newcastle Parks and Recreation Department is excited to announce the opening of the Veterans Park Splashpad for the 2026 summer season beginning Saturday, May 23.

The Splashpad will be open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and will remain open through September 8, the day following Labor Day Weekend.

The Splashpad provides a free family-friendly activity for residents and visitors looking to cool off during the summer months. Located at Veterans Park, the Splashpad continues to be one of the community’s most popular warm-weather attractions for children and families of all ages.

“We are excited to officially kick off another Splashpad season and provide families with a fun place to spend time together throughout the summer,” said Kyle Marks, director of Parks and Recreation.

Visitors are encouraged to help keep the facility clean and safe for everyone by following posted rules and supervising children at all times.
