Chamber plans 2 ‘Meet the Candidate’ forums for May 19 & 26
Two “Meet the Candidate” forums are being planned by the Newcastle Chamber of Commerce for 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 19 and 6 p.m. May 26 at the Newcastle Library Community Room.
Local candidates for House District 20 and McClain County Commissioner have been invited to participate on May 19. Candidates who have said they will be attending are: Mitchell Jacob (D-HD-4) of Newcastle and Jeff Pixley (D-HD-4) of Norman. Other candidates have been invited.
Candidates who said they will attend on May 26 are: Mike Fullerton (R-HD20) of Newcastle, and Chris May (D-HD20) of Noble; and County Commissioner candidates Glen Murray and Joe Southern.
Locally, State Representative Jonathan Wilk (R-Goldsby) is being challenged by Mike Fullerton (R-Newcastle). The winner of the Republican primary will go on to face Democrat Chris May of Noble.
FORUMS: Not all candidates have answered
In the County Commissioner District No. 1 filing, incumbent Republican Glen Murray is being challenged by Terry Dwain Hillis, Jr.
In the County Commissioner District No. 3, filers were Republicans Joe Southern and Scott Carroll.
