Newcastle Baseball hosting Regionals

Newcastle Baseball earned the right to host the Class 5A West Regional 3 tournament starting at 11 a.m. today (Thursday).

The Racers will play Southeast in game one, while Altus and Guthrie take the field for game two at 1:30 p.m. The winners of game one and game two will play at 4 p.m. for game three, while the losing teams play at 6:30 p.m. for game 4. (See tournament brackets on this page for further games.)

The Racers won District 5A-2, finishing regular season including the Districts with a 28-6 record. They lost their final regular season matchup to Class 3A Marlow on Monday night. The Racers went 13-1 in District with their only loss coming from Duncan. They went 15-2 in competition against other Class 5A teams for the year.
