A local non-profit, 21st Century Santa Inc., will be having a garage sale during the Newcastle Citywide Garage Sale April 23-25 at 2629 N. West Oaks Drive in Newcastle.
The sale will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, April 23-24, and then from 8 a.m. to noon on April 25. All proceeds made at the sale will be used for their organization which aids special needs kids, and any child who may have been affected by a disaster.
Board President Rick Carr of Newcastle said, “We are a member organization of VOAD, voluntary organizations assisting in disaster. Whenever there is a major storm, flood, tornado, or whatever, towns are encouraged to step up and help with any needs they have. These organizations will aid in these needs.”
Carr said, “Our organization helps with these needs, because these kids may need everything including help with toys to aid the children in finding a little normal. The organization follows up with the family around Christmas time or at the time of the child’s birthday.”
A statement from 21st Century Santa Inc. says, “When you see children affected by special needs, illness, or disability, have you ever wondered: ‘With all the demands of meeting day-to-day needs, how do they handle birthdays and Christmas?’” To help special needs children and those affected by disaster, 21st Century Santa Inc. has collected contributed items from the board members and friends of the organization, and they’ll be selling them this weekend. Some of these include general household knick knacks, kitchen items, Christmas collectibles including poinsettia dishes, and lots of seasonal glassware.
Anyone who purchases $10 or more will receive a 21st Century Santa Inc. T-shirt, while supplies last.
Their garage sale will be among all those listed on the City’s map, at newcastleok. gov.
