Mid-America Technology Center is highlighting what it says is a successful week of community engagement. Its campus and Conference Center hosted multiple events that brought together students, organizations, and local partners.

Throughout the week, the facility welcomed a variety of groups, including Our Blood Institute, TechCent$, the Mc-Clain County Election Board, and our the MATC National Technical Honor Society (NTHS).

The Blood Drive, hosted by the full-time EMT program, had 82 participants. Each blood donation can help save up to 3 lives … that means this single event has the potential to impact up to 246 lives.

This effort reflects the ongoing commitment of Mid-America Technology Center students and staff to serve and support their community.

Mid-America Technology Center was honored to host the TechCent$ Graduation, recognizing participants who completed the statewide initiative focused on building a deeper understanding of technology center operations, funding, and school finance. Through this program, graduates gained valuable insight into how CareerTech systems are funded and managed, strengthening transparency and awareness of public education resources. Congratulations to our MATC staff, Michael Gustafson, Dana Rico, and Karen Hemmerling for their completion of this program.

The McClain County Election Board utilized the campus for annual training for precinct staffers.

Mid-America Technology Center was also proud to host its second-ever on-campus NTHS induction ceremony, recognizing student achievement and leadership, with 149 student inductees.

Events like these highlight the excellence and dedication of CareerTech students across the district.

The Conference Center is a professional space thoughtfully utilized for meetings, trainings, and events that align with, and support, the needs of our district.

“Our Conference Center exists to serve our programs, industry partners, and partner schools,” said Dallas Krout, Assistant Superintendent. “We are always happy to provide a space where stakeholders can gather, collaborate, and make a positive impact — without financial barriers.”

A MATC spokesperson said Mid-America Technology Center remains committed to maximizing community resources and creating opportunities that extend beyond the classroom.
