Newcastle gets $556,465 ACOG grant for 10th Street project upgrades

The City of Newcastle has received $556,465 in federal funding through the Association of Central Oklahoma Governments (ACOG) Air Quality Grant Program for the 10th Street Regional Safety Project.

This project will focus on improving safety and accessibility along a key corridor, supporting safer travelforpedestriansandotheruserswhilehelping reduce traffic-related impacts.

“Improving safety on our roadways is a top priority,” said Mike Fullerton, Newcastle city council member. “This funding allows us to make meaningful upgrades that benefit residents and visitors alike.”

ACOG serves as the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for the Oklahoma City region, coordinating transportation planning efforts and distributing federal funds to projects that improve regional mobility. Newcastle’s project contributes to broader regional efforts to improve safety and connectivity across Central Oklahoma.
