Wrestling awards announced at end-of-year banquet

The 2025-26 wrestling season is now in the books, but coaches said it was a good one.

Head Coach Tyrone Lewis and Assistant Coach Kevin Sheets said the high school team went 8-6 in duals with four top-10 tournament finishes and runner-up in District Duals.

The high school girls team was “small but mighty” this year with only three girls on the high school roster. Coaches said they still brought home some hardware and had some decent tournament placings.

The junior high boys did a good job of learning the sport while bringing home some hardware for their efforts, coaches said. They finished with a dual record of 8-10 and had a couple of top-10 tournament finishes. The junior high girls were in the same position as the high school girls, with only three members on their roster. They also had some very good matches and tournament placings, coaches added.
