Gilbertson moves from school district, gives up seat as school board member

‘A responsibility I deeply cherished,’ support will continue

As we noted in last week’s issue of the Newcastle Pacer, Jeremy Gilbertson has moved from Ward 5 of the Newcastle Public Schools’ boundaries, and is no longer eligible to serve as Ward 5 school board member.

At the time of the announcement, we were unable to contact Gilbertson, but since then we have done so.

Gilbertson said, “It was an honor to serve on the Newcastle School Board and to work alongside fellow board members, teachers, administrators, parents, and community members in supporting our schools and students. During my time on the board, I had the opportunity to help make decisions that directly impacted our students and their education — a responsibility I deeply cherished.”

Gilbertson said although he moved out of Ward 5, he continues to reside in Newcastle and remains committed to the school system and to the community.

“I served because I believe in giving back, supporting our educators, and helping ensure that every student has the opportunity to learn and grow,” Gilbertson said. “I am proud of what we accomplished together and grateful for the chance to contribute to the success of Newcastle Schools.

“My support for our students, educators, and community continues, and I look forward to seeing all the great things yet to come for our district.”
