2026 ELECTION INFORMATION
The next McClain County GOP meeting is at 7 p.m. on Monday March 23 at the Newcastle Storm Shelter, 851 North Carr Drive in Newcastle.
McClain County GOP Chairman Paul Maus said those attending will hear from different candidates including Jake Merrick for Governor of Oklahoma, and Marty Quinn for Insurance Commissioner.
He said Merrick is a devoted Christian, married for 14 years to his wife, and a proud father of two home schooled daughters, ages 16 and 10.
“As an adoptive parent, Jake understands that the nuclear family is the core unit of our society. Jake will lead with a Family First Agenda,” Maus said. “A seminary graduate, author, entrepreneur, and former pastor, Jake has dedicated his life to serving others through teaching, speaking, and leadership. His commitment to fitness and active living reflects his belief in personal responsibility and stewardship.”
Maus said, “Jake has served in the Oklahoma State Senate, and he understands the political system.
“He believes that it is the very system that needs reform, and he has consistently called for this reform on his morning radio show and the Jake for the State podcast. The future of Oklahoma depends on it.”
“My mission is to serve Oklahoma guided by faith and family values. I believe in standing on principle, not politics, and fighting for the future our children deserve,” Jake Merrick said.
Maus said Quinn is a small business owner, insurance professional, Oklahoma state legislator (2010-2022), and long-time conservative leader with a passion for protecting the people of Oklahoma. He has more than four decades of industry experience, from local agent and manager to agency owner.
“His legislative experience brings one of the most conservative and pro-taxpayers voting records in Oklahoma and has been an advocate for small businesses, families, and Oklahoma communities,” Maus said.
“During his tenure, he served as Assistant Majority Leader and Chairman of Insurance & Retirement Committee.”
