Several Newcastle middle school and high school students recently made the Southwestern Oklahoma Band Directors Association Premiere Honor Band. They earned their spots through a competitive audition process that included musicians from 17 southwest Oklahoma counties and over 50 schools. Being selected for this prestigious ensemble is a testament to their talent, discipline, and dedication. Students (not in order) are: Hansen Boan, Jacob Cullen, Hayden Deaton, Samson Gramling, Evan Harryman, Avery Lewis, Ava Longenbaugh, Jack Longenbaugh, Jacob Marxen, Danielle Olufowote, Elizabeth Smith, Christian Staats, Olivia Thacker, Johnny Tisby, and Olivia Wright. The honor band recently held its concert at Southwest Oklahoma State University.
