The next McClain County GOP meeting is at 7 p.m. Monday, February 23.
They will hear from different candidates including Marcie Everhart for U.S. Congress, Mike Mazzei for Governor of Oklahoma, State Representative Justin Humphrey for Lieutenant Governor of Oklahoma, and Deborah Campbell.
McClain County GOP Chair Paul Maus said those attending can meet the candidates beforehand from 6:30-7 p.m. and the meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the Newcastle Storm Shelter, 851 North Carr Drive.
Everhart, a fifth-generation Oklahoman, has lived in Moore the past 24 years and Lawton for 10. She is an 11year cancer survivor, wife of a Tinker Air Force Base engineer, and mom of a combat veteran. An avid community volunteer, Everhart has served on the boards of the UCO Alumni Association, Delta Chi chapter of Sigma Kappa, and the Central Oklahoma chapter of American Mensa.
Mazzei, a former state senator and businessman and candidate for Oklahoma Governor, aims to address key issues affecting Oklahoma, including education reform, tax cuts, and protecting local land from foreign ownership. His campaign emphasizes a conservative platform rooted in fiscal responsibility and accountability.
Mazzei served in the Oklahoma Senate for 12 years and he has a strong background in fiscal policy, having chaired the Senate Finance Committee.
He has also held the position of Secretary of Budget under Governor Kevin Stitt.
Humphrey, R-Lane, was elected in 2017 to serve in the Oklahoma House of Representatives for District 19. A lifelong southeastern native and Atoka High School graduate, he earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice with a minor in business administration from East Central University.
Humphrey has a background in law enforcement, business administration, and ranching. Humphrey currently serves as vice chair of the House Public Safety and Tourism committees and he is a member of the Judiciary and Public Safety Oversight committee and the Appropriations & Budget Judiciary Subcommittee.
