In announcing her candidacy for Congressional District 4, Marcie Everhart of Moore said she is willing to take on deeply compromised, morally weak leadership in a fight for America’s future.
The retired businesswoman said she is focused on reforming Congress to address the unsustainable, astonishing current levels of federal government corruption and debt.
“Many of the wonderful people of D-4 realize their longtime Congressman Tom Cole is the head dealmaker of the swamp as chair of the appropriations committee,” Everhart said. “He is the architect of the 1,000-page omnibus bills that sell out America to the tune of $38 trillion in crushing debt. And he’s the heavy that gets them forced through.”
Everhart said, “Term limits. I won’t rest until I get it. And sole American citizenship. No more insider trading, nongovernment organization funding for their spouse and friends, or protection for the rapists and pedophiles among their donors. I’m coming for them all.”
Everhart said she is a former marketing director with experience in bringing complex, cutting-edge, new technologies to the North American market. She says she is known for her skill in explaining complicated matters in downhome language with scathing humor. She has lived with her husband, Dale, an aeronautical engineer at Tinker Air Force Base, in the same house in Moore for 23 years. She is a grandmother of an 11-year-old cancer survivor and the mother of an Afghanistan combat veteran.
Everhart said she has been receiving strong support on the ground in a district she says is comprised of people who are starving for a real choice.
“They’ve been hoping for a candidate to declare with the courage to take on special interests and big-lobby money,” she said.
She has her most popular presentation is entitled “Top Five Ways Congress Cheats, Steals, and Enriches Themselves,” and she says it is met with loud cheers when given.
“I end all my encounters with the encouragement to have hope. I am out in the district among the people, and I know for a fact that they are not fatalistic black-pillers,” Everhart said. “They will not let this country fail, and they will remove the head of the Washington snake who happens to be from Oklahoma.”
Prior to her work in marketing high tech, Everhart was an award-winning writer, editor, and advertising strategist. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Central Oklahoma and an MBA with an International Marketing emphasis from Oklahoma City University.
An avid community volunteer, Everhart has served on the boards of the UCO Alumni Association, Delta Chi chapter of Sigma Kappa, and the Central Oklahoma chapter of American Mensa.
She volunteered in the Boy Scouts for 11 years, rising to Unit Commissioner overseeing units in Moore, South Oklahoma City, and parts of Norman. For more information on Everhart, visit Everhartforcongress. com.
