The Racer boys basketball team was fighting for the top of Class 5A District 1, but has the best overall record.
Newcastle has split games with Del City, losing one and winning one, and the Racers were beat by Classen School of Advanced Studies earlier in the year. These were the Racers only losses on the 2026 season, now touting an 18-2 record.
Their last three games, the Racers have beat Del City by a score of 65-47, and then Lawton MacArthur, 58-36. The Racers then beat Bishop Mc-Guinness by a score of 63-39.
This led them to a rematch on their schedule with Classen SAS on Tuesday night.
They’ll play against Tuttle tonight (Thursday) and then against Altus on Friday night to conclude regular season competition.
