January is School Board Recognition Month in Oklahoma. This is a time dedicated to honoring the men and women who volunteer their time to shape the future of Oklahoma’s public education. Newcastle Public Schools honored the local Board of Education at their latest meeting. Being thanked for their service were: Tiffany Elcyzyn, president; Jeff Dingee, vice-president; Jeremy Gilbertson, clerk; Valory Dalton, deputy clerk; and Ron Lock, board member. They are pictured with Superintendent of Schools Dr. Cathy Walker. These dedicated individuals focus on student achievement and navigate the complexities of governing school districts while upholding essential democratic values. They shape the direction of Newcastle Public Schools.
