County Republicans to hear from Humphey, Quinn, Janloo

McClain County GOP Chair Paul Maus said the next McClain County GOP meeting is at 7 p.m. Monday, January 26 at the Newcastle Storm Shelter, 851 North Carr Drive.

He said they’ll be hearing from different candidates including State Representative Justin Humphrey for Lieutenant Governor of Oklahoma, Marty Quinn for Insurance Commissioner, Lisa Janloo for Labor Commissioner, and Dr. John Cox for State Superintendent. Maus said visitors can meet the candidates beforehand from 6:30 to 7 p.m.

Humphrey, R-Lane, was elected in 2017 to serve in the Oklahoma House of Representatives for District 19, which includes Choctaw and Pushmataha counties and parts of Atoka Bryan counties. A lifelong southeastern Oklahoma native and Atoka High School graduate, he earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice with a minor in business administration from East Central University in Ada. Humphrey has a background in law enforcement, business administration and ranching.

Humphrey currently serves as vice chair of the House Public Safety and Tourism committees and is a member of the Judiciary and Public Safety Oversight committee and the Appropriations & Budget Judiciary Subcommittee. Humphrey also operates a cattle ranch in southeastern Oklahoma. Humphrey and his wife, Carla, have been married more than 30 years. The Humphreys have three sons, Coben, Cort, and Cade. The Humphreys attend Church of the Rock in Lane where he serves as a worship leader.

Quinn is a small business owner, insurance professional, Oklahoma state legislator (2010-2022) and long-time conservative leader with a passion for protecting the people of Oklahoma, Maus said. He has more than four decades of industry experience, from local agent and manager to agency owner.

His legislative experience brings one of the most conservative and pro-taxpayers voting records in Oklahoma and has been an advocate for small businesses, families, and Oklahoma communities. During his tenure, he served as Assistant Majority Leader and Chairman of the Insurance & Retirement Committee.

Janloo is a business woman, community advocate, and lifelong Republican running for Oklahoma Labor Commissioner. She says Oklahoma deserves leadership that puts people first.

She believes every worker deserves fairness, every employer deserves clarity, and government must be held accountable. She is running to ensure that every Oklahoman has the opportunity to work hard, achieve their goals, and build a better future for themselves, their families, and their communities.

Maus said Dr. Cox is a proven Republican leader who has dedicated his life to Oklahoma’s schools. For more than 40 years, he has served as a teacher, counselor, coach, professor, and superintendent. For the last 32 years, he has led Peggs Public School, where he wears every hat.

He holds 12 professional certifications — including Superintendent, Principal, Counselor, Computer Science, and all levels of Mathematics – and has taught at Mid-America Christian University and Northeastern State University. His proudest roles are husband, father, and papa to six grandchildren.
