Racer girls remain undefeated in state

Newcastle’s Racer girls beat Bishop McGuinness, Classen School of Advanced Studies, and Altus last week to continue their undefeated streak in Oklahoma competition.

The Racers are now 13-2, having lost only to two teams at the Nike Tournament of Champions on a trip out of state.

Against Bishop McGuiness, the Racers won 83-57. Kalani Kindred continues to lead the Racers on offense, this time scoring 23 points. Amara King was next with 20 points. Jordy Richardson had 15, Reagan Greenroyd and Lilly Taliaferro had 7 each, and Jailiana Salas and Ziyah Sims had 4 each. Makayla Brown added a free throw.

The girls next played Classen SAS to a 98-36 victory. Scoring was more widely spread in this game with King hitting the high point with 14. Kindred had 13 points, while Richardson and Taliaferro had 10 each. Emerson Marble and Salas each had 9, Khloe Young and Makayla Brown had 8 apiece. Sims and Ava Snider both had 7, and Greenroyd hit for 3.

Newcastle put it on Altus to win, 88-42.

The girls played against Duncan on Tuesday night. They are hosting the Sweat Pea Invitational starting Thursday, and will begin with a game against John Marshall at 7 p.m. tonight (Thursday).
