She’ll represent the state on trip to National Pageant in Ohio
Amy Tisdale, a resident of Blanchard since 2012, has been named Ms. Wheelchair Oklahoma USA, representing the state of Oklahoma at the Ms. Wheelchair USA National Pageant this July in Northeast Ohio.
Tisdale has strong ties to the Blanchard community. Both of her children are graduates of Blanchard schools, and she remains actively involved in serving the community she proudly calls home.
Ms. Wheelchair Oklahoma USA is an official state title of the Ms. Wheelchair USA program that is presented in partnership with The Dane Foundation.
The mission of The Dane Foundation is to provide for the unique needs of individuals with physical and developmental disabilities. The organization also carries a special mandate to provide events and programs that foster awareness, understanding, and acceptance of individuals with physical and developmental disabilities, as well as their families and caregivers.
Tisdale’s platform, FSST Forward — From Signs to Strength, grew from her own stroke journey. Through this platform, she speaks to schools, churches, businesses, and community organizations, sharing lived experience and encouraging meaningful connection and understanding. Tisdale’s platform focuses on stroke awareness and supporting the survivors after a stroke occurs.
In July, Tisdale will travel to Ohio, to compete with other state and regional titleholders for the national crown. Community members are encouraged to follow her Ms. Wheelchair Oklahoma USA page on Facebook for updates, appearances, and information on how to support her fundraising efforts as she prepares for the national pageant.
Tisdale said she is available for speaking engagements, community events, and group presentations.
