Santa Fe South could only manage three points on January 6 when they were playing basketball against the aggressive defense of the Newcastle Racer girls. Offensively the Racers were just below the 100 mark.
Newcastle beat Santa Fe South, 97-3.
Kalani Kindred led the way with 19 points. Jordyn Richardson had 14, while Amara King and Kaelin Horton each had 13.
Ziyah Sims scored 10 points. Jailiana Salas had 9, and Khloe Young had 8. Emerson Marble tossed in 5, Makayla Brown had 4, and Ava Snider hit for 2.
Newcastle’s girls took on Bishop McGuinness on Monday night and then Classen SAS on Tuesday. They are scheduled to play Altus tonight (Thursday). Games times are 6 p.m.
Newcastle’s boys started back up with their competition after the break by beating Santa Fe South, 80-42. They faced Bishop McGuinness Monday night and Classen SAS on Tuesday. The Racers take on Altus at 7:30 p.m. tonight (Thursday).
