The Chickasaw Lighthorse Police Department maintains a tip hotline for those wishing to report any crime, accident or suspicious activity that occurs within the Chickasaw Nation.
The public can share information 24 hours a day by calling (866) 9287384 and leaving a voice message. An online tip form is also available at ChickasawLighthorsePolice. net.
The tip lines are monitored by Chickasaw Lighthorse personnel and information received is passed directly to patrol officers, criminal investigators or other authorities.
Recognizing that some citizens may be hesitant to come forward with information regarding criminal activities, all calls and online tips can be made anonymously, ensuring confidentiality if needed.
Although anonymity is always available on the Chickasaw Lighthorse tip lines, law enforcement officials recommend callers identify themselves and leave a callback number to enable investigators to conduct follow up interviews if necessary.
Being a good Tipster, Recognizing Suspicious Activity When calling or using the online tip form, it is important that tipsters provide as precise and comprehensive information as possible.
Helpful reports include information about when and where an event occurred as well as descriptions of persons involved including sex, approximate age and weight, height, eye color and any unique identifying features such as tattoos or scars. Useful automobile descriptions include type, make, model, year, color, tag number and any individual identifying features such as bumper stickers or window art.
Suspicious activities often include vehicles, property and people. Abandoned vehicles or those left unattended for an extended period can be a cause for concern. Vehicles being loaded with items from a closed business or an unattended home should be reported. Persons attempting to forcibly enter vehicles or “repair” them, especially at night or in a public parking lot, can also signify criminal activity.
Strangers entering a neighbor’s yard or loitering on private property can be reported, especially when the unusual activity occurs near schools, churches and public parks.
Unusual smells from a location, both chemical and organic in nature, could be cause for concern and can be reported. Continuous traffic to and from the same residence, usually not staying for extended periods of time, is a common suspicious activity and can also be useful information for criminal investigations.
