Newcastle Parks & Recreation releases 2026 Calendar

Newcastle Parks & Recreation has released its full 2026 Events and Programs Calendar, featuring a mix of returning community favorites and several new initiatives designed to increase participation and accessibility throughout the year.

The 2026 calendar includes annual events such as Easter in the Park, Youth Fishing Derby, Red, White & Blue Fest, Haunt the Park, and Christmas in the Park, along with seasonal programs including the Farmers & Artisans Market, Citywide Garage Sale Weekend, and splashpad operations.

New for 2026 is the Pop-Up in the Park series. These are short, themed weekday events held throughout the year at various park locations. Each pop-up is designed to be simple, family-friendly, and accessible, offering activities such as kite flying, chalk art, fall-themed games, and more.

Another new addition is the Director’s 100 Mile Challenge, which will replace the Walk the Trail program.

The challenge encourages participants to complete 100 miles in 100 days through walking or running, allowing individuals to participate at their own pace while promoting community wellness.

“We wanted to keep what works while also creating new opportunities for people to engage with our parks in different ways,” said Parks Director Kyle Marks. “The goal is simple: get people outside, active, and connected to the community.”

All events and programs are free to attend unless otherwise noted. Dates and details are subject to change.

The full 2026 Events & Programs Calendar, including event times, locations, and updates, is available at www.NewcastleOK.gov/events.
