Newcastle PD seeks suspects for attempted home invasion

At approximately 3:41 a.m., Thursday, December 25, Newcastle Police Officers were dispatched to the 900 block of N.W. 5th Street in reference to a possible burglary in progress.

Upon arrival, officers learned that four male subjects had fled the scene on foot prior to police arrival. Further investigation revealed that three of the four suspects attempted to kick in the front door of an occupied residence before fleeing.

While conducting a search of the surrounding area, officers located a suspect vehicle parked nearby in the roadway with its door open.

During the investigation, two female subjects were detained. At this time, four male suspects are still being sought. The suspects are described as four Black males. Three of the suspects were last seen wearing black hooded sweatshirts, and one suspect was last seen wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt.

Investigators are requesting assistance from the public in identifying three of the suspects seen in surveillance video from the area. Newcastle Police Department states that the suspects should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information related to this incident is urged to contact the Newcastle Police Department or 911 immediately. Do not attempt to approach the suspects.

This investigation remains ongoing. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
