Sales and Use taxes returned to local government entities was reported by the Oklahoma Tax Commission, and Newcastle showed a decrease from the same time the previous year.
Although less, the Newcastle returns were still close to $1 million, coming in at $932,135.87.
The December report is from Sales and Use taxes collected from October business activity.
Norman, Blanchard, Washington and Wayne all posted big gains in their sales and use tax collections of numbers turned in in 2024.
Lexington gained nearly $10k over 2024 numbers. Washington was up $8,891 but it was due to an increase in the tax rate from .04 in 2024 to .05 in 2025.
Purcell continued a slight downward trend taking in $1,871 less in 2025 compared to figures in 2024.
