As Christmas approaches, the Tri-City Cowboy Country Church in Newcastle is announcing that they have been blessed with significant growth in attendance. They have purchased the church property and made improvements, and they have a gospel special on December 21.
Pastor Randy Hawkins said, “Join us for an evening filled with joy, fellowship and the true spirit of Christmas, featuring the talented musicians Jim Garling, Richard Sharp, and Greg Burgess.”
Hawkins said they’ll have coffee, snacks, great country gospel music, and heartwarming Christmas stories. He added that it will be a night the entire family will enjoy.
The Country Gospel Singing Christmas Special will be at 6 p.m. and everyone is invited to attend.
Hawkins said, “You don’t have to be a cowboy to come to the Cowboy Church. Our motto is: Come as you are. We’re not perfect — just forgiven. Everyone is welcome, and you will experience the love of God when you walk through the doors. We are one big family.”
Hawkins said God planted Tri-City Cowboy Country Church with a vision to reach people for Christ.
“And today we stand as living proof of His faithfulness,” he said.
The church was founded in August 2016 by Pastor John Hooser, along with Tom and Reta Gilliam. In February 2021, Pastor Hawkins was brought in as Senior Pastor. Under his leadership, the church has continued to grow spiritually and numerically. Since that time, they also have purchased the building and the property. With the growth, they also have been able to expand the sanctua r y, and now have a new paved parking lot. This, in turn, has enabled them to make more room for people to hear the Gospel and encounter God’s presence, Hawkins said.
Pastor Randy’s wife, Debbie, faithfully serves as the Children’s Church Pastor and plays a vital part in the ministry of the church.
Hawkins said the Church stands firmly on the foundation of God’s Word.
“We believe, preach and teach the whole Bible. We believe in The Trinity — God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit,” Hawkins said. “We believe that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was sent from Heaven to earth to save mankind. He was crucified for our sins, buried and rose again on the third day. Today, Jesus is alive forevermore, offering salvation, forgiveness, and eternal life to all who believe.”
Hawkins said the message they preach, the hope they share, and the heart of everything they do is based on John 3:16-17 from the King James Version of the Bible.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”

MINISTRY: Church is impacting teenagers
The Tri-City Cowboy Country Church ministries have seen significant growth, along with the church membership. Led by David Brooks, the Sunday School meets at 9:15 a.m. and now has 5060 adults who meet each week. Hawkins said it is a powerful time of fellowship and learning God’s Word together.
The youth ministry includes a Wednesday night group which meets at 6 p.m. and is led by Youth Pastor Gerard Cavallo and Marianne Cavallo. Hawkins said this ministry has taken off with great momentum and is impacting teenagers with the love of Jesus.
Services on Sunday start with Bible study for adults, teens and children at 9:15 a.m. The Country Gospel music is at 10 a.m. and includes donuts, coffee and fellowship. The worship service and message begins at 10:45 a.m.
Hawkins said Tri-City Cowboy Country Church would love to have you join them in one or more of the services, and for the 6 p.m. December 21 Country Gospel Singing Christmas Special. The church is at 3246 N.W. 32nd Street, the junction of State Highways 37 and 76, in Newcastle.
