After more than three decades of shaping students’ futures, Randy Henderson is retiring from Mid-America Technology Center, where he has served 32 years.
His career in education spans 38 and a half years, beginning as an automotive teacher and evolving into leadership roles that have left a lasting impact on both students and colleagues.
Henderson began his career in the classroom, teaching for 22 years, before transitioning to adult education coordinator for short-term programs.
In 2015, he became the director of Full-Time Programs at Mid-America, a shared-time technology center serving juniors, seniors, and adult students across south-central Oklahoma.
Under his leadership, Mid-America continued its tradition of excellence, earning recognition as a threetime recipient of the Gene Bottoms Pacesetter Award and national acclaim for career preparation programs.
Colleagues and students alike will remember Randy for his dedication, leadership, and commitment to preparing the next generation for success in the workforce.
His presence and guidance will be deeply missed.
MATC is a public career and technology education center located in Wayne, which is part of the Oklahoma CareerTech system. Established in 1968, Mid-America has grown to 31 full-time programs, serving 19 feeder schools.
