Saturday night was an awards banquet for the Newcastle Police Department. It is planned to be held annually.
Police Chief Toby Garver said he feels it is important to note when personnel have performed well in their position. The banquet is just one of many new community events held by Chief Garver and his department. They have also held Cops and Coffee at various Newcastle locations, they supported the City’s blood drive, and they worked with Newcastle Library and Newcastle Public Schools on activities.
This is a way for them to continue building trust, connection, and positive experiences with the community they serve.
A special feature page is planned in next week’s issue of the Newcastle Pacer. It will be available at area convenience stores and at news boxes on or before Thursday, December 25.
