Racers win first at Colton Turner Memorial tournament — The Newcastle Racer wrestlers won first place at the Colton Turner Memorial tournament in Lexington held over the weekend. Coaches said they are extremely proud of all of the wrestlers, coaches, managers, and the booster club, and that exciting things are happening for Newcastle. Newcastle High School placers were: 113 - Jace Pierce - 2nd; 120 - Colton Dobbs - 2nd; 126 - Gage Stark - 1st; 138 - Jake Robertson - 4th; 150 - Jaxon Mitchell- 1st; 175 - Cameron Povec - 3rd; 190 - Rylan Rinehart - 1st; and 215 - Chason Burnside - 3rd. Racer girls placers were: 115 - Addison Schuringa - 1st outstanding wrestler; 145 - Tatum McDaniel - 2nd - fastest fall; and 155 - Katie Julian - 1st. • photo provided
