Seven students from Mid-America Technology Center have been selected to receive the Otha Grimes Scholarship, a statewide honor administered by the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education.
The 2025 scholarship recipients from Mid-America are: Matthew Sanchez, Practical Nursing; Sinai Ugalde, Practical Nursing; William Olinger, Practical Nursing; Beau James, Lineworker Technology; Clarissa Brown, Practical Nursing; Shealyn Thompson, Practical Nursing; and Ian Bonner, Lineworker Technology.
“These students have demonstrated exceptional commitment to their training and their future careers,” Mike Eubank, superintendent. “We are proud of their accomplishments and pleased to see their hard work recognized at the state level.”
The Otha Grimes Scholarship program provides financial assistance to students enrolled in Oklahoma CareerTech programs, helping them continue their technical training and pursue high-demand career paths.
The scholarship is named in honor of Otha Grimes, a longtime advocate for vocational education and supporter of workforce development in Oklahoma. Mid-America Technology Center serves students across south central Oklahoma, preparing them for skilled careers in a wide range of technical fields.
