Newcastle’s Racers brought home the Championship trophy from the Great Plains Invitational held December 11-13 in Lawton. The tournament contenders joining Newcastle were Lawton High School, Lawton MacArthur, Classen SAS, Northwest Classen, Lawton Eisenhower, Moore, and Ferris, Texas. Coming off a loss to Del City, the Racers started the tournament with a 77-31 win against Ferris. They then beat Moore, 66-47, and Classen SAS, 45-43 in the Championship game.
