Newcastle High School graduate and baseball player Taj Smith has decided to play summer baseball in Newton, Kansas. His mom, Lisa Smith-Longman said they are having a Meat Pie fundraiser to help pay for his expenses.
The fundraiser began yesterday (Wednesday) and continues today (Thursday) and Friday, December 12. They’ll have Indian Tacos, Meat Pies, and Sopapilla Tacos for sale.
Smith-Longman said they’ll be taking the first 40 lunch orders daily.
“People with busy schedules after work during this time of year, if you need dinner, that can be arranged,” she said. “Send me a message or text me at 405-609-9929.”
She added that if you are not one of their regular customers, you will be required to pay in advance, “I had too many no-shows last time I did this,” she said.
Pickup of orders will be at the Smith-Longman house in Newcastle. She and Taj will deliver lunch orders of 10 or more items.
Cost of items is the following: Indian Taco $10, Meat Pie $8, Sopapilla Taco $7 (fry bread, cinnamon sugar, and honey).
