November 12th at Woodland Hills Baptist Church, the Newcastle Nighttime Needlers Quilt Guild presented Quilts of Valor to the following US Military Veterans: Richard Aytes, Gary Brown, James Couch, Alan Davenport, Lonnie DaVoult, Gregory Ferguson, Kyle Glisson, David Hamel, Mike Harrell, Richard Libby, Charles Lumley, Roy Martin Jr., Tommy Neugebauer, Richard Todd. Two veterans who could not attend but received their quilts were Barry Grove and Mark McGuckin. The students of Shilo Christan Academy performed the official songs for each branch of the Armed Forces and flag presentation. The women of the guild volunteer their time and materials to make these quilts throughout the year. They state that it is truly an honor to wrap the veterans with a warm quilt. NNNQG has presented the Quilts of Valor annually for the past several years and plan to continue this community service for many years to come.
