Morning Mingle at Pioneer Friday
The Pioneer Fiber Internet-sponsored Christmas Sweater Mingle and Christmas Coffee is planned for 9 a.m. tomorrow (December 5) at the Newcastle office, 901 N. Main.
This is also the Newcastle Chamber of Commerce’s December Morning Mingle. The ugliest sweater wins a prize.
The public is welcomed to attend.
Santa Call-In planned Tuesday
A Santa Claus call-in will be from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 9 for your children.
This is an annual community service from Pioneer, and they invite your family to take part to let Santa Claus know what the children want for Christmas.
This is a one-night only offer to talk with the jolly old fellow himself. To do so, dial 1-866-927-2682.
Cookie Crawl is next Tuesday
A Cookie Crawl is planned by the Newcastle Chamber of Commerce at participating area businesses for December 9.
This will be like business trick-or-treat, but will involve businesses having cookies at their business and customers can go from business to business and collect a cookie.
The businesses will have pamphlets and information on their businesses, and some will have swag items.
Participating businesses will be announced on the Chamber’s page on Facebook on December 8.
Coat, Toy Drive is underway
A toy and coat drive is underway and donations are being accepted through Friday, December 12.
Local 4-H members who are spearheading the drive said the Red Andrews Christmas Dinner is the beneficiary of the drive.
“We appreciate donations of new, unwrapped toys for all ages, plus new and gently used coats in all sizes,” said a spokesperson.

Multi-Chamber Christmas Party
The Newcastle Chamber of Commerce is announcing a Multi-Chamber Partnership Christmas Party from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. December 16 at The Social Room.
It is located at 217 N. Harrison in Blanchard. A Christmas Party and small gift/ornament exchange is planned. The gathering is free for members and is $15 for non-members to attend. Those who will attend can RSVP through their local Chamber of Commerce.
The event is sponsored by The Social Room, Sassy Batch, and OEC Electric & Fiber.
Pop-Up Holiday Merry Market
Get ready to shop, sip, and celebrate the season at Newcastle’s Holiday Merry Market, states Chamber of Commerce planners.
The Pop-Up Holiday market is planned for December 5-6, December 13-14, and December 20-21 and will be located at Willow Bend Shopping Center on State Highway 37.
Vendors will be on hand selling handmade goods, boutique items, tasty treats, and holiday décor. The idea is to shop at home and make “Newcastle merry and bright together.”
