Dancers from Elevate Dance Academy traveled to Pampa, Texas, to compete at the Dance Masters of America Chapter 35 – The Lone Star Chapter competition, earning numerous top awards.
Standout soloists included Isaac Wise, Logan Ketchum, Cali Mitchell, Carsyn Wright, and Maddie Britton, all of whom took first place in their divisions.
Cali and Maddie received the highest overall solo scores of the entire competition, highlighting their exceptional technical skill and performance quality.
Elevate’s group routines also impressed the judges. Ready Set Go, Rhyme Dust, Sound of the 60s, and To Build a Home earned first-place honors, while other top routines included Elevated, The 30th, Fire Under My Feet, The End, and The Turning.
Their production routine, Sound of the 60s, featuring all 56 company members, earned first place and the title of Overall Grand Champion, the highest-scoring group routine of the event.
“We couldn’t be prouder of how our dancers represented Elevate this weekend,” said Kelsey Britton, director of Elevate Dance Academy.
Britton said, “Their passion, professionalism, and love for performing truly shines through every time they step on stage.”
She said the results reflect Elevate Dance Academy’s commitment to excellence, creativity, and teamwork, continuing to make Newcastle proud in the dance community.

Macie Britton, a student at Elevate Dance Academy in Newcastle, competed at the Dance Masters of America Chapter 35 – The Lone Star Chapter event in Pampa, Texas. She participated in ballet, tap, jazz, and acro auditions, completed an interview, and performed her solo “Smile,” choreographed by Hannah Tena. Her dedication and talent earned her the title of Junior Miss Dance of Chapter 35.
