Walkability is a newer concept that has become important for growing communities. Newcastle’s walkability is the topic for an interactive open house from 6-7:30 p.m. December 4 at the Newcastle Storm Shelter.
City leaders said participants will be able to help shape Newcastle’s walkable future when they attend.
“Your voice will help shape a safer, more connected, and more walkable Newcastle for everyone,” said a city spokesperson.
Another way to provide input is to scan the provided QR Code with your phone, and then go to the provided link and answer survey questions.
The City says they are planning improvements to sidewalks and pedestrian safety and they need the public’s ideas.
At the open house, participants will learn that sidewalks are underway, they can share where they think improvements are most needed, and the information will help the City to prioritize safety, accessibilty and connectivity.
The Newcastle Storm Shelter is located at 851 N. Carr Drive.
