Of the 18 area communities and McClain County, 12 of the 19 entities collected fewer sales and use taxes compared to the same time period in 2024.
Pauls Valley had the largest gain at just over $21,000. Newcastle had a return that was $35,525.23 less than those collected in 2024.
The taxes were collected on business from August 16-31 and the estimated taxes from September 1-15, according to the Oklahoma Tax Commission.
It also includes the statutory sales tax holiday reimbursements to cities and counties. McClain County was down almost $41,000.
