Linda Darlene Reed

September 30, 1961 – October 4, 2025

Linda Darlene Reed, 64, of Oklahoma City, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 4, 2025, following a brief illness. She was born on September 30, 1961, in Oklahoma City, the youngest of three children born to James Brunell Griffith and Misha Marceille Ferguson of Newcastle, Oklahoma.

Linda grew up in Newcastle and graduated from Newcastle High School with the Class of 1979, where she enjoyed playing basketball and participating in school activities. In 1980, she married Sherman Reed, and together they raised three children — Stephanie, Brent, and Tanner. While her children were growing up, the family made their home in Edmond, where Linda devoted her time to being a loving wife, mother, and homemaker.

A lifelong member of the Church of Christ, Linda possessed a deep and abiding faith and often expressed her belief that “God will never leave you.” She attended Oklahoma Christian University for one year before beginning her family and career as a devoted homemaker.

Linda was known for her sense of humor, her compassionate spirit, and her love for her family. She found great joy in her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and reading, and could often be found lost in a good novel or watching her favorite show, Gilmore Girls.

In recent years, Linda found companionship and comfort in her beloved Shih Tzu, Toby, whom she cared for with great affection. Despite living with chronic pain for many years, Linda faced life’s challenges with strength, courage and grace.

Linda will be deeply missed by her family and friends, who will forever cherish her warmth, faith, and unwavering love.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, James and Marceille Griffith.

She is survived by: three children, Dr. Stephanie Falatko and husband Dr. John Falatko of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Brent Reed and wife Jamie of Minco, Oklahoma, and Tanner Reed of Austin, Texas; one sister, Marianne Stephens of Newcastle, Oklahoma; one brother, Gary Griffith and wife Pam of Kingston, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Nora and Benjamin Falatko, and Indy and Paxton Reed; one aunt, Jimmi Dean of Newcastle, Oklahoma; three nephews, Chad, Craig and Cory Griffith; and many cousins and friends.
