Blanchard Public Library plans Art Strategies to Enhance Literacy

Blanchard Public Library, a branch of Pioneer Library System, is excited to announce its upcoming Creative Pathways: Art Strategies to Enhance Literacy program. Taking place October 15-17 at the library, 10:30-11:45 am, this program is being made possible through a generous grant from Pioneer Library System Foundation.

School Art Instructor and Artist, Ashley Leming, is offering a delightful three-day program in Blanchard, Oklahoma, designed for children 3-4 and children 5-7. This hands-on workshop combines foundational literacy skills with creative art activities, fostering a fun and engaging learning environment.

In session 1, children will learn how to reinforce the connection between letters and their sounds through painting activities. In session 2, they will practice letter-sound connections using clay or dough. In Session 3, they will explore descriptive adjectives to articulate what they see and feel, expanding their vocabulary by experimenting with unconventional materials, such as textures, paints, and other creative techniques. All supplies will be provided, and registration is required.

For more information, please contact the library at 405-485-2275. Alternatively, you can browse further and register by visiting pioneerlibrarysystem. org and searching for events from October 15 to 17.
