Newcastle High School varsity Cross Country competed at the Chili Pepper Festival in Fayetteville, Arkansas, hosted by The University of Arkansas.
Senior Hadlee Mann led the way for the Lady Racers with a 13th place finish out of 262 runners with a time of 19:54 for the 5k course. Senior Luke Perkins led the Newcastle boys. He finished 71st out of 280 runners with a time of 17:25 for the 5K course.
Head Coach Jerald Lewis said, “We competed against teams from Missouri, Kansas, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana.”
Newcastle Cross Country runs next at Elgin. Both varsity and junior high will take part.
