Mayor Karl Nail said the U.S. Interstate 35 and State Highway 9 project is expected to be “substantially completed” by Thanksgiving this year.
Nail said he has had discussions with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation and they said their contractors have told them this is the date they expect to have all lanes back open on the interchange.
Nail said there will continue to be clean up and other types of work in the area, but area residents and others who drive in the area will notice a big difference.
Construction on the ODOT project started in January 2024. When open, drivers can expect a wider I-35 and a Diverging Diamond interchange which is expected to help traffic flow.
