Pioneer Library System’s annual Touch-A-Truck Celebrates 20 Years

Pioneer Library System’s annual Touch-A-Truck event celebrates its 20th year this fall. It returns from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, September 27 at the Cleveland County Fairgrounds, located at 615 E. Robinson Street in Norman.

A quiet hour, designed for children with sensory sensitivities, will be held from 9 to 10 a.m.

This event is free to the public, and registration is not required.

PLS’s Touch-A-Truck provides children with a safe environment to satisfy their curiosity, by exploring and learning about favorite vehicles they usually only get to see from afar. Here, they get to be hands-on!

Touch-A-Truck is one of many events PLS offers that supports the learning and development of children.

“Play-based learning is critical to children’s literacy and development,” says Maureen Pridgeon, co-chair of this year’s event. “It helps kids embrace their curiosity, enhance cognitive skills, and build social and emotional growth.”

Hosted in partnership with the Pioneer Library System Foundation, Touch-A-Truck consistently attracts approximately 2,500 attendees annually.

The event’s proceeds benefit children’s literacy and STEAM programming across Pioneer Library System’s Cleveland County branches.

Sponsorship opportunities are available.
