A new senior living center/ residential care home has opened on a 10-acre home site in Newcastle.
Zarephath Senior Living, at 2221 N.E. 4th street, is located in a peaceful and spacious environment and has five spaces open.
Owner Jayna Kinnamon said it provides a personalized, home-like setting which is ideal for seniors seeking 24/7 care with a staff-to-resident ratio of one to five. The area where the home sits is described as serene and secure.
Residents have their own private room with shared living area, family dining, and front and back porches.
The owners also said they feel that the homestyle layout promotes familiarity and security, as opposed to the feel of institutionalized care.
Staff on site provides assistance with daily living activities, medication management, and health monitoring. Staff prepares meals using locally sourced ingredients, and they accommodate special dietary needs. Housekeeping and laundry services are provided for each resident.
“We believe in keeping our residents active and engaged with a variety of activities and events,” said an owner. “From fitness classes to game nights to cultural outings, there’s always something to do at Zarephath Senior Living.”
Residents are provided transportation for scheduled outings and routine medical needs.
